Our Senior netball team have had an excellent year and have won the Barnet Cup and League. This group of girls shows outstanding talent and has produced such an excellent achievement.

Barnet Cross Country Championships

Twenty two Ashmole students took part in this year’s Barnet Cross Country Championships with some incredible performances. In true cross country tradition the weather was cold and wet, but this didn't dampen the students' spirits. There were outstanding performances from Jasmine Ryder (year 7) and Natasha Tanner (year 8), who outwitted nearly every other opponent on the course, as well as Jacob Bland (year 7), Joe Heather (year 9) and Casey Doyle (year 9) who were all chosen to represent Barnet in the Middlesex Cross Country Championships.

Spurs Premier League Girls Football Tournament

On Friday 4th March, Ashmole Academy took part in a yr7/8 Girls Football tournament held by Spurs at their state of art training facilities. There were 21 schools from all around North London and Hertfordshire. We were in a group with 6 other schools and started off very well, winning our first group match 3-0, then finished our group in first place with no goals conceded. After the group stages it was a knockout format, meaning any defeat and we would be on our way home. The matches were getting tougher as the quality of the football was improving. We won our quarter final 1-0, holding strong from the start of the game. Next, we had the semi-final which was a hard-fought match with the game ending 1-0 to us. We had reached the final and were excited yet very nervous. Our opponents were Goff’s Oak School and it was an extremely tense affair. With just 30 seconds remaining we were 2-0 down having already hit the crossbar. Then we scored, but unfortunately it wasn’t enough, the final score being ended 2-1 to Goff's Oak. However, out of 21 schools we came 2nd which was an amazing achievement

Year 10 Netball Runner Ups Barnet Championship

Congratulations go to our Year 10 Netball team who were runners up in the Barnet League Final. After a tough year playing all of our home and away fixtures, it came down to the finals where the girls narrowly missed out on being named Barnet League Champions. We are immensely proud of all of the members of the team.

Year 9 Netball Bronze medal winners

The Year 9 netball tournament was a great day for the year 9 netball team as we had successfully made it to the league finals along with 3 other schools out of 20 in the borough. Our first match was against reigning champions, Henrietta Barnet.  By half-time we had managed to hold them to 1-1 , however by the end of the second half, we had lost 6-3. Despite our loss, we were still up for medal contention, only this time, it was for the bronze. Our second match was against East Barnet, which made us hopeful as we had beaten them before. Thankfully, we won once again, beating them 2-1, and allowing us to claim our bronze medal.
