Year 7 Literacy and Numeracy Catch-up Premium
The literacy and numeracy catch-up premium gives state-funded schools, including special schools and alternative provision settings, additional funding to support year 7 pupils who did not achieve the expected standard (Scaled Score of 100) in reading or maths at the end of key stage 2 (KS2).

How the Funding Is Spent
English
- Intensive small-group tuition with an English teacher to develop reading skills
- Additional support in English lessons from a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
- A kindle with preloaded, differentiated reading materials.
Maths
- Intensive small-group work with a Maths teacher to improve number skills
- Additional support in Maths lessons from a Higher Level Teaching Assistant
- A recommended online resource in Maths to be used each week day at home to improve numeracy skills
Impact of expenditure
Students will be assessed at the end of the Spring Term.
