What are you doing now?

I am currently in my sixth year of teaching PE.  I am Deputy Head of my department, as well as Head of Boys sport.  I also hold a pastoral role as a form tutor and assistant to all Heads of Year.

What did/do you get involved with at university?

I represented the University football team for three years, captaining the first team in my final year. I also became Student Union Manager, which involved roles such as organising events, running the Student Union and ensuring students had positive experiences whilst at University.

What did you find most valuable about your experiences at Ashmole Academy? What skills did it help you to develop?

I feel as though the learning I achieved was positive and always motivational. The support I received from staff was amazing, especially from my form tutor.  I believe I developed an ability to communicate well with staff and students, whilst learning to problem solve challenging scenarios.

What top tips would you give to other students wishing to follow a similar career to yours?

Be open to learning and trying new things out.  It is crucial to be open minded, patient and willing to go above and beyond in order to see students develop into young people that can live happy and prosperous lives.

How did Ashmole help you reach your goals?

Ashmole kept me on track by ensuring I was always challenged.  I was always reminded of my next steps to success and what could occur beyond that.

Please write a quote that sums up your experience at Ashmole.

‘Looking back, I have to say that Ashmole provided me with some of the most important learning experiences of my life’
