What are you doing now?

I’m currently working as a radio producer for talkSPORT.  I work on the ‘Sports Bar’ daily show and produce our live boxing coverage over the course of the year.  I also freelance as a producer for IMG, which broadcasts live Dutch football (among other leagues) for Sky. Furthermore, I am an accredited NCTJ Journalist.

What did/do you get involved with at university?

I played football for the university. It was a great experience and I met some great people because of it.

What did you find most valuable about your experiences at Ashmole Academy? What skills did it help you to develop?

I loved my time at Ashmole.  Some of my closest friends (to this very day) and I first met in school.  The teachers genuinely tried to help you – whether I could see it at the time or not! With regard to the skills it helped me to develop, I learnt how to meet deadlines, to construct persuasive arguments and to write creatively, through my studies.

What top tips would you give to other students wishing to follow a similar career to yours?

Know your subject matter and make sure it’s something you’re passionate about.  Do your research (which never stops I’m afraid) and be prepared to work flexible hours for little money… especially to begin with.

How did Ashmole help you reach your goals?

Ashmole helped me to achieve the grades necessary to attend a great university.  It also gave me the tools to interview well and helped me develop in all aspects of being a young man.
