As part of their learning this term in English lessons, Year 8 have been developing their “writing like a journalist” skills, producing a range of articles including sports reports, arts reviews, and pieces on current affairs. They have worked incredibly hard to research and write their own articles, and this edition is a fantastic reflection of their effort and creativity.

Ashmole Academy runs a highly effective Oxbridge Programme. Successful outcomes have continued this year with a number of students accepting offers for undergraduate study at Oxford and Cambridge: The diversity in degree subjects and A Levels these students have chosen is a testament to their outstanding efforts and the well-rounded education provided by the school.

Given that the average number of Oxbridge offers per state school in the UK sits at just under 1 and, on average, 79% of state schools do not send any students to Oxbridge, our Programme is proving extremely effective. This year 7 students received offers, including 1 placed in the Summer Pool for Cambridge.
